Scientists decode a human genome, which could lead to medical advances
In 2003, the National Institutes of Health created a generic genome from several people’s DNA that was only 92% complete and now, 20 years later the genetic code is 100%. NBC News’ Joshua Johnson is joined by assistant professor of biomolecular engineering at UC Santa Cruz, Karen Miga, who led the team of scientists behind the completed genome.
